Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Alert Configuration: Ensure correct alerting is configured and local work instructions are up to date.
- Long-term Fixes: Propose, approve, and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Log Monitoring: Monitor security and operational logs from various sources.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate comprehensive reports and perform analytics.
Operational Security:
- System Security Planning: Plan, implement, and oversee operational system security requirements.
- Vulnerability Analysis: Run and analyse vulnerability fix levels across platforms.
- Security Bulletins: Analyze and resolve issues highlighted in vendor-released security bulletins, focusing on high-security vulnerabilities.
- Testing: Prepare, maintain, and execute test plans and scripts for storm services, adapting to customer requirements.
Patching:
- Methodologies Development: Develop and execute platform patching methodologies and updates such as firmware, end-of-life hardware, and software.
Faults & Escalations:
- Escalation Point: Act as an escalation point for faults, lead investigations into incidents, and complete follow-up tasks.
- Preventative Solutions: Propose preventative measures to mitigate recurring issues.
- Fault Solutions: Create, approve, and implement solutions to faults.
Software Deployment:
- Application Review: Review application designs and work instructions.
- Service Installation: Install new services and upgrade existing ones.
- Change Management: Write, approve, and execute low to medium risk changes.
Experience Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a relevant subject.
- Experience: Experience in the security sector or understanding of security networks is desirable.
- Technical Role: Good experience in a customer-facing technical role.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and good analytical abilities.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Good standard of written and verbal communication.
- Team Attitude: Positive “team” attitude towards other departments to ensure timely and professional communication and assistance.
