Position Overview:

JAM Management Consultancy is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced and dynamic Country Manager for Japan. This role is pivotal in leading the strategic expansion of our client in the Unified Communications (UC), Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technology and a proven track record of driving growth and enhancing market presence in the public and private sectors, particularly within banking, finance, and insurance industries.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive country strategy to drive market penetration and growth for UC, CCaaS, SaaS, and AI solutions across banking, finance, insurance, and public services.

Market Analysis:
Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes. Tailor strategies to meet the specific needs and regulatory requirements of the Japanese market.

Sales and Business Development:
Lead sales efforts to acquire new clients and strengthen relationships with existing accounts. Achieve sales targets and KPIs while fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

Relationship Management:
Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate partners, and industry associations. Act as the primary point of contact for all business-related matters in Japan.

Team Development:
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing local team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture aligned with the company’s values and goals.

Product Positioning:
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure effective positioning and marketing of solutions in the Japanese market. Provide local insights to adapt global strategies for regional success.

Financial Oversight:
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for the Japan region, ensuring compliance with local regulations and financial practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with global teams in technology, operations, and support to ensure seamless service delivery and high customer satisfaction.

Experience Required

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Technology, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years in sales, business development, or management roles within the technology sector, specifically in UC, CCaaS, SaaS, or AI.

Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the Japanese market with experience in banking, finance, insurance, and public sector operations.

Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive performance, and manage cross-functional collaboration.

Language Skills:
Fluency in Japanese and English is essential; additional languages are a plus.

Cultural Awareness:
Deep understanding of Japanese business culture and practices, with the ability to navigate complex relationships and regulations.

Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and develop actionable insights.
